The Rising Stars Sponsorship Programme

We partner with Word and Deed Uganda (WADU) to offer primary education in a Christian boarding school to children who show promise. Our sponsorship programme offers a safe and stable atmosphere in which the children can learn and complete their education.

The WADU team are committed to sharing the Christian faith and transforming the neglected and impoverished Batwa communities. The education of children is key in this. The boarding school environment provides not only an education, but also a bed, daily food and security for each child.

We want more children to be able to access this programme and reach their potential.

Sponsorship details

Your sponsorship will cover all costs for your student’s education, including uniform and school supplies. The WADU team visit the children regularly, monitor progress and ensure good communication between the school, families, and you as the sponsor.

Initial sponsorship

Ideally, we ask you to commit to sponsor a child through primary school to secondary school. We are conscious that this may not be possible for everyone. We also have a general sponsorship fund which we use to top-up the costs of the programme and we welcome donations.

The cost of sponsoring a Rising Star at primary school is £35 per month.

The monthly sum increases to £37 per month when your student reaches secondary school.

The monthly sum increases to £40 each month if your student moves on to sixth form or two years of tertiary education.

Please contact Abigail Felce, our Sponsorship Coordinator, to indicate your interest.

Abigail will allocate you a student from our waiting list and give you all their details.

Sponsorship payments are usually made monthly, but you may pay annually if you wish. To make your sponsorship payments, please set up a standing order with your bank.
